Erin K Drew is an interdisciplinary artist, arts organizer, researcher and educator. Ongoing interests include American semiotics and folk forms, place, class, education and entertainment. She has written and documented visual culture from her vantage extensively through her blog Extreme Appearances.
Her images, objects and events have been exhibited by iMOCA (the Indianapolis Museum of Contemporary Art), Herron School of Art and Design, University of Toledo, Indiana University-Purdue University-Indianapolis, the Carnegie at Covington, University of Nevada, Reno and artist-run galleries, cabarets and bars from the Rust Belt to the Mojave Desert.
She sells books and organizes visual literary events under the moniker Abba Zaba Books, specializing in feminist, queer, BIPOC perspectives and punk and avant garde currents. She is a freelance tour guide, an itinerant master of ceremonies, and an investigator of the estate sale subculture. She loves long drives and enjoys seeking a balance between lucidity and derangement.
